The 40th Edition of the Arab International Conference
The 40th edition of the Arab International Conference on the theme “Digital Transformation in Admission and Registration Services” was held from December 18 to 20, 2023, at Carthage Thalasso, Cité El Khadra, Tunisia. Organized by the University of Tunis El Manar in partnership with the Arab Organization for Admission Officials.
The program included an opening session and six working sessions focusing on topics such as:
- The importance of internal auditing in admission services to protect against fraud.
- The professional skills of staff and their adaptation to digital changes.
- The use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in academic guidance.
- Challenges faced by international students and the recognition of their qualifications.
- The management of students’ digital data and issues related to displaced students.
- The development of quality standards for admission services.

22nd Session of the University Council
Under the supervision of Professor Moaz Al-Shafra, the 22nd session of the University Council for the term 2020-2023 was held on December 15, 2023, to discuss the following matters:
- Presentation of the information system.
- Research ethics at the University of Tunis El Manar and its institutions.
- U-Accelerator platform for innovation and technology transfer.
We4Lead
On December 14, 2023, the University of Tunis El Manar and the University of Sousse hosted the launch conference for the “WE4LEAD” project at the Royal ASBU Hotel in Tunis. This Erasmus+ capacity-building initiative aims to enhance women’s access to top decision-making positions in higher education institutions (HEIs) and promote gender equality in governance.
The project is co-led by Aix-Marseille University in France and the Lebanese University, with partners from Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Italy, and Spain. The conference focused on engaging stakeholders and raising awareness about the project’s significance for universities.

Collaboration and Engagement with the Socio-Economic World
On Wednesday, November 29, the President of the University of Tunis El Manar signed a partnership agreement with the NGO Enda Inter-Arabe. This agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the Enda Startup Studio team and the Student Entrepreneur Center (P2E) of the University of Tunis El Manar.
On this occasion, a productive exchange of visions took place between representatives of the participating universities, the Enda Inter-Arabe team, and their strategic perspectives. The discussions aimed to promote an entrepreneurial mindset and provide support for student entrepreneurs.
Info Sessions: December 2 and 6, 2023
The Student Entrepreneur Center (P2E) of the University of Tunis El Manar successfully hosted three info sessions:
- On Saturday, December 2, 2023, at ISSBAT.
- On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at FSEGT.
- On October 25, 2023, at ENIT.
The info sessions introduced participants to the Student Entrepreneur Center (P2E) and the National Student Entrepreneur Status (SNEE), explaining its levels, benefits, and eligibility criteria. They also outlined the key steps and timelines for joining the first cohort of student entrepreneurs.
UTM alumni entrepreneurs enriched the sessions by pitching their projects and sharing success stories — providing valuable inspiration and motivating participants to turn their entrepreneurial ideas into reality.
















Initiation to Project Development
The National Agency Erasmus+ Tunisia, in collaboration with universities of Greater Tunis including University of Tunis El Manar, Zaitouna University, University of Tunis, University of Carthage, University of Manouba, and the Virtual University of Tunis (UVT), along with the General Directorate of Technological Studies, organized an information and training session titled “Introduction to Project Development”.
This session aimed to encourage innovation and collaboration among higher education institutions while enhancing the capacities of the stakeholders involved.

International Student Integration Days
The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, University of Tunis El Manar, celebrated its students from various nationalities through an event providing an overview of the faculty, its internal system, and offered specializations.

The First Information Session – Student Entrepreneur Hub
The first information session for students regarding the Student Entrepreneur Hub (P2E UTM) took place on December 2, 2023, at ISSBAT and on December 6, 2023, at FSEGT.
Mr. Moez Chafra highlighted his support for student entrepreneurship as a strategic focus for UTM. The P2E team announced the opening of applications for the National Status of Student Entrepreneur and explained the procedures.
This initiative promotes creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation among students, contributing to economic development and job creation.
First Training Session – DIRASA Project (WP3)
From November 22 to 24, 2023, the University of Tunis El Manar participated in the first training session under WP3 of the DIRASA project, which aims to improve the governance of academic research in Tunisia.
The training focused on ethical frameworks, anti-plagiarism systems, and awareness programs to foster dialogue and cooperation among research actors. The event took place in Tabarka.

25th Edition of the ENIT Business Forum
ENIT, University of Tunis El Manar, organized the 25th edition of its Business Forum on November 22, 2023, under the theme “Engineering Innovation Hub”.
Discussions focused on:

Recognition under the “AFRIDI” Project
On November 17, 2023, Professor Moez Chafra presided over a welcoming event for new scholarship students under the “AFRIDI” project — an initiative supporting training, research, and innovation for sustainable development across Africa.
The event honored project contributors and students with certificates of appreciation, emphasizing collaboration and skill development.
11th International Arab Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education
The 11th edition of the International Arab Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education took place on November 8–9, 2023, in Tunisia, in partnership between UTM and Al-Zarqa University (Jordan).
The program included workshops on quality management, strategic planning, e-learning, and innovation in higher education.

UTM and AUF Partnership to Support the New Student Entrepreneur Center
As part of the preparations for launching the Student Entrepreneur Center at the University of Tunis El Manar (UTM), a partnership agreement was signed on April 19, 2023. The agreement formalizes the collaboration between UTM, represented by its President, Mr. Moez Chafra, and AUF, represented by Mr. Mejdi Ayari, Senior Project Manager.
UTM proudly welcomes this new partnership, which will strengthen support for entrepreneurial initiatives by providing students with opportunities to benefit from the advantages of the student-entrepreneur status.
Annual Ceremony to Celebrate Outstanding Students
On July 20, 2023, the University of Tunis El Manar held its annual ceremony to celebrate its outstanding students and recognize the efforts of all those who contributed to the university’s success, including management, faculty, and administrative staff.
This event encourages students to strive for greater academic excellence and to continue their pursuit of knowledge and achievement. It serves as a motivation for them to set higher goals and actively engage in their academic and professional development.
Cooperation Agreement and Final Conference of the MIGRANTS Project
On July 10, 2023, the “MIGRANTS” project brought together its partners in Palermo to evaluate the results achieved during the first phase of the project (2021-2023). Alongside this final conference, a cooperation agreement was signed between the University of Tunis El Manar and its partners to strengthen collaboration among the stakeholders involved in the project.
The main objective of “MIGRANTS” is to develop a joint international and interdisciplinary Master’s program titled: Migration Studies: Governance, Policies, and Cultures. This program is coordinated by three Tunisian universities — the University of Tunis El Manar, the University of Tunis, and the University of Manouba — in partnership with the University of Palermo, the University of Westminster, and the University of Granada, alongside experts, practitioners, and NGOs working in migration.
Award Ceremony for UTM-Innov Winners
The award ceremony for the UTM-Innov winners took place on September 6, 2023. UTM-Innov is part of the PAQGAGE project, funded by Promesse and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in partnership with the BIAT Foundation for Youth, Connect’Innov, and the Tunis International Center for Digital Cultural Economy, as well as the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations Tunisia.
Student Today, Entrepreneur Tomorrow
On June 5, 2023, the 4C ISSBAT at the University of Tunis El Manar, in partnership with PAQ GREEn and INJAZ TUNISIE, organized the day entitled “Student Today, Entrepreneur Tomorrow” at ISSBAT. Nine project teams presented their social initiatives before a jury as part of the third edition of INJAZ TUNISIE’s flagship program, the “Company Program”, aiming to qualify for the final competition.
The event also showcased small businesses established by ISSBAT students and graduates through a local fair.
Training of Trainers – Student Entrepreneur Center (P2U-UTM)
In collaboration with ENDA Inter-Arabe, the referents of the P2E-UTM participated in a training program focused on startup support methodology. This initiative promotes universal access to information and communications technology by equipping educators and mentors with the tools to foster innovation and entrepreneurial skills.
Rooftop PV Power Plant – ENIT
Installed at the National School of Engineers of Tunis (ENIT) as part of the MedEcoSuRe project, this rooftop photovoltaic power plant has an installed capacity of 71 kWp and covers 8% of the school’s total electricity consumption. It contributes to developing sustainable, resilient, and inclusive infrastructures.
