Sustainable Investment
The University of Tunis El Manar has adopted a comprehensive sustainable investment policy, integrating sustainability and social responsibility as part of its transition to EPST. This policy encompasses six key types of sustainable investment designed to achieve a positive environmental and social impact while ensuring long-term financial returns.
Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) lies at the heart of this approach. It incorporates social and ethical criteria into investment decisions, avoiding controversial activities and prioritizing companies that demonstrate positive social impact and ethical practices.
ESG integration strengthens sustainability commitments by assessing companies based on their environmental, social, and governance practices, supporting those with high ESG performance.
Impact investing enables the university to drive meaningful change by funding projects that produce measurable social and environmental benefits, including renewable energy, access to clean water, and affordable housing initiatives.
Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ensures investments prioritize projects that align with the United Nations’ global SDGs, including poverty reduction, climate change mitigation, and gender equality.
Community development investments focus on generating local impact, supporting economic growth and the well-being of communities across Tunisia.
